The down side of breast implants
Thinking about doing something about your breasts? Tired of looking flat-chested, like a teen age boy? Wanting to regain that perky younger look, and become the target of all manly’s looks? You better get more familiar with certain factors referring to breast implants, before you make a responsible, informed choice, well aware of what to expect, what not expect and what to fear.
Breast implants are surgically placed in the interior of the mammal gland. According to the chosen technique by the surgeon, they might go on top of the chest muscle, right below the skin, or under the muscle. If the patient is too skinny, or has a very thin skin the doctor will probably place the implant under the muscle. As you can imagine, during the recovery period, the muscles have to heal, making the post-op longer and more painful.
As any other operation, no matter how minor it might be catalogued, there is always the risk of infection and other common complication that might arise during an intervention. Going under full anesthesia can be perilous too. Extensive pre-op controls must be made in order to rule out any preexisting condition that might endanger the life of the patient.
The psychological effects of breast implants must be considered as well, when pondering over this intervention. The unnatural and dramatic growth of the breast might be a situation hard to elaborate, especially if the person shows to her friends and relatives with those “things” that were not there before.
