Negative consequences of breast implants
A decision as serious as going under a cosmetic surgery to have breast implants placed cannot be taken hastily. There are some negative consequences after the operation, even if things have gone perfect according to the doctor.
On the first place, breast implants can feel unnatural. The sensation of carrying a heavier weight on the body, and the fact that the skin needs to stretch in order to host the breast implants, can bring about an unpleasant sensation, against which there is no cure but time. Eventually the patient will get accustomed to her new anatomy, and the discomfort will fade.
Some patients with breast implants will develop skin marks. Stretch marks might appear as the skin has to make a huge effort to host the implants. There is no real cure against stretch marks. It all depends on the patient, since each case is different. Shea nut oil, olive oil or E vitamins are often used to fight these marks, and the results vary from patient to patient.
Patients with breast implants, as well as patients holding another foreign object in the body, such as patients with an artificial joint or a peacemaker, are constantly at risk of suffering an infection. This is why, if they have to face a dental treatment, for instance, they will need to take antibiotics, so as to prevent an opportunistic infection.
Post-op pain is unavoidable. Since each woman is different, the degree of pain can vary form a mild soreness to a great deal of pain, a sensation of pressure, or discomfort. Always consult with your doctor.
